Air Deccan’s phenomenal growth spurred the entry of more than half a dozen low-cost air carriers in India

Perhaps sheer guts, and a lot of tactical common sense, is what we inferred! Gopinath never has, and does not intend to give the best of quality, but rather, the best priceline offer the consumer can have! Worthy of mention in this context is Air Deccan’s ‘WOW’ campaign that was initiated to change the market perception of the carrier’s service standards and departures delays (which it now loudly announces to have improved!). Creditably, this well-built vision has propelled the low-cost behemoth to the number two spot (with a vital market share of 19.8% during December 2006) amongst a host of other carriers.
