His anti-poverty & literacy drives, economic policies and foreign policies, all have helped Venezuela rise from a once terrible 31% inflation economy, to a steady 9.6% GDP growth wonder. Also, with Fidel Castro having virtually retired from active politics, Chávez is tipped to don the mantle of the leader of the South American Leftists. Pan-Americanism and Bolivarianism might have brought him to cross swords with the SA, but his doctrines have found vast acceptance in the Latin-American countries. But killing the American infantile presumptions are the latest pre-poll surveys that have found almost 60% support to Chávez, with Rosales coming a pathetic second with 30% votes. Bush can rest, Hugo’s the best!
